Terms and conditions
1. Registration
a. The final deadline for application is May 1st.
b. Late applications will only be taken into consideration if places are still available.
c. After registration, candidates will be notified of admission to the Program within 2-4 weeks of their application.
d. After registration, candidates will be notified of financial matters regarding the Program.
2. Cancellation
a. It is not possible to cancel your place on the Program, except in cases of serious exceptional circumstances for which extensive and satisfactory documented proof must be submitted by registered mail. Cancellation by the participant of his/her place on the Program after May 1st 2023 will not entitle the participant to any refund of the down payment of €500. The only exception to this rule is in the above-mentioned case. Only if these conditions have been met is the participant entitled to a refund up to a maximum of €400. An administrative fee of €100 will be charged.
b. Furthermore, the Columbia Summer Program reserves the right to cancel or change, without notice, any statements concerning, but not limited to, rules, policies, tuition fees, curricula, and courses.
c. If the Program is canceled by the Columbia Summer Program, a refund will be provided that is worth the equivalent of the fee paid by the participant.
3. Liability
a. The participant is both directly and indirectly liable for any damage caused by him or her to the goods, properties, and/or buildings used by or of both the Columbia Summer Program as well as any third parties during all activities organized by the Columbia Summer Program.
b. The Columbia Summer Program is neither directly nor indirectly liable for any of the following: damage, loss, or theft (of personal property or goods) as well as personal injuries of any kind during the activities.
c. The Columbia Summer Program is not liable for any inability or delay in executing this agreement during a period in which the inability or delay is caused by influencers beyond reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to acts of God, war, epidemics or pandemics, strikes, labor disputes, embargoes, and government orders (or any other force majeure events).
4. Tools and materials
All materials and handouts provided by the Columbia Summer Program are free of use. However, they are under copyright and are owned by the Columbia Summer Program. Participants and alumni do not acquire ownership rights in any of these materials. Participants agree not to reproduce, modify or redistribute any of the materials received from or provided by the Columbia Summer Program.
5. Disclaimer
a. The information and data contained on this website (www.columbiasummerprogram.org) are provided by the Columbia Summer Program and may be used for informational purposes only. While the Columbia Summer Program will do its utmost to keep the content of this website accurate and reliable, the Columbia Summer Program cannot guarantee the accuracy, validity, or reliability of the content.
